When Alan sets Charlie up with Linda the judge on their double date, he brings Donna as his own companion for the evening. They start dating, and things seem to be going well until Alan decides to end it because he becomes bored of her. Alan doesn’t want to hurt Donna’s feelings and is unsure of how to tell her, and Charlie gives him advice on how to break in off gently. But the advice backfires and Donna becomes hysterical when Alan breaks up with her.
